Jon-Paul Irvine (son of Paul Irvine, Project Manager at ENGIE Fabricom) and his friend Richard Woodhouse pushed Dan Woodhouse around the Great North Run, half marathon course to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
With a modified jogger type pushchair to enable Dan to carry his ventilator and medical supplies, as well as keeping him comfortable whilst being pushed, the guys completed the course in a fantastic time of 2 hours 31 minutes, despite the wheelchair suffering a puncture before even crossing the start line! In total they raised an incredible £6,983.76 of which £1,000 of that was raised by the ENGIE Fabricom team on the M+W site, Shepperton.
Richard and Dan commented: “Our father suffered from heart disease as well as our uncle so we have seen first hand the incredible benefits of heart medication and clinical trials in improving quality of life. We would like to thank everyone who sponsored us.”
