Front End Engineering Design (FEED) is a complete engineering package which takes the proposed solution and engineers this to the point where investment decisions are to be made.  Sufficient detail, quality of design and risks are defined to enable the execution phases of the project, i.e. detailed design and construction, to be carried out.

During the FEED phase, there is a close link between the engineering designer and the client in order to ensure that the business requirements are met.
