Bottesford Town Under 9s have been playing football in the Scunthorpe Junior League for 3 seasons now, managed by Sam Horton, who is Watch Manager for Humberside Fire and Rescue Service.
The team currently have 12 players aged between 8 and 9 who all have a very enthusiastic approach towards football, their aim as a team is to ensure that the young players learn and enjoy football in a safe environment. The team’s philosophy is to ensure that the young players understand the importance of staying active and having a positive attitude towards a teamwork environment. Sam’s role is to help provide coaching that develops the children’s confidence, skills and self-esteem.
Bottesford Town JFC is a community club with FA charter standard status, funding can always be a contentious issue as they are a voluntary organisation.
Sam Horton commented: “The sponsorship that we have been fortunate enough to receive from ENGIE Fabricom will go a long way towards securing the future of the team and the sporting development of the players. We are excited to be representing ENGIE Fabricom and aim to do so in a way that promotes their Company values. Hopefully along the way we can add some honours to the trophy cabinet!”
Mark Astwood commented: “The enthusiasm shown by these young players and the commitment of the volunteers like Sam Horton, Team Manager are very much in line with the values and community spirit we promote at ENGIE Fabricom. The presentation and sponsorship of the kit was greatly deserved by all involved at Bottesford U9s Football Club and goes a long way to keep these local teams running and their aim to promote a healthy lifestyle, team spirit and confidence in the future footballers and engineers of our community.”
