Macmillan Coffee Morning:
ENGIE Fabricom held coffee mornings throughout the business in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. All of our offices took part and together, the total amount raised by the Company was an amazing £449.70.
Macmillan Cancer Support provides specialist healthcare, information and financial support to people affected by cancer. It also looks at the social and practical impact cancer can have and campaigns for better cancer care. Macmillan take time to understand a person, so that they can provide the support, tools and inspiration needed to find the best way through it. They do it like this because they understand everyone’s cancer journey is unique.
The world’s biggest coffee morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event, people all over the UK host their own coffee mornings raising money for such a great cause. The first ever Coffee Morning happened way back in 1990. It was a rather small affair with a simple idea: guests would gather over coffee and donate the cost of their cuppa to Macmillan in the process. It was so effective, they did it again the next year – only this time nationally. Since then, Coffee Morning has raised over £200 million for Macmillan.
Thank you to everyone who supported the event by either baking or buying cakes, taking part in the sweepstakes and generously donating to such a worthwhile cause.
