Gifts and Treats donated by ENGIE Fabricom and RDR for Christmas 2019

By | Charity, Training Courses

Gifts and treats to two fantastic charities for Christmas 2019.

ENGIE Fabricom and Resource Direct Recruitment (RDR) are thrilled with their teams for their amazing efforts to help those less fortunate experience the joy of Christmas.

Following our recent announcement that we are supporting CARE’s Toys for Joy and My Sisters Place charities this Christmas, we have been busy collecting toys, treats, clothes, toiletries, mobile phones and games ready to donate to these worthwhile causes.

To collect for the Toys for Joy campaign, we set up two collection points – our Engineering and Design Office in Grimsby and our Manufacturing and Construction Facility in Immingham – and we were amazed by the volume of toys donated.

Sarah Carvill and Emily Scott from ENGIE Fabricom (pictured left) delivered the donations to the Toys for Joy campaign and were delighted to hear that their gifts would put smiles on so many faces this Christmas.

Sarah Carvill, Communications Lead commented:  “As a Company we are committed to helping and supporting our local communities and I would like to take this opportunity to say thank everyone who generously contributed to this amazing charity by donating gifts and treats.  We hope to have made lots of children smile this Christmas.”

For My Sisters Place charity, our North East office helped raise a huge selection of gifts, including shopping vouchers, 4 new mobile phones loaded with £10 credit, free minutes and text messages, toiletries, food boxes as well as a large donation of gifts for both ladies and children.

Louise Murrell, Emma Williams and Yaw Ankomah from RDR delivered the gifts to My Sisters Place (pictured right).

Paul Stainthorpe, Director of RDR commented ; “There has been a magnificent effort by RDR and ENGIE Fabricom over the past months to collect donations of all kinds to ensure the people relying on this great charity have an enjoyable Christmas.  Particular thanks to Louise Murrell, Emma Williams, Jo Harrison and Bethan Whitehead from RDR and the ENGIE sites and offices in the North East that provided gifts and money.  Thank you all and a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year”

SMTD Programme – A New Training Initiative for ENGIE Fabricom

By | Corporate News, Training Courses

ECITB’s SMTD Programme:

ENGIE Fabricom is proud to announce that seven employees are currently developing through the Engineering Construction Industry Training Board’s (ECITB) Supervisory Management Training and Development (SMTD) Programme.

The SMTD programme is designed to enhance employees’ skills and knowledge of project management and engineering, their competencies in supervision, and to support their career progression and continual development.  The SMTD programme is just one of the initiatives demonstrating ENGIE Fabricom’s advanced strategy and firm commitment to investing in the existing – as well as new – talent within our business.

A decision to include a mentoring segment to the training programme for more experienced colleagues, has been implemented and exposure to supervision and other additional responsibilities is underway to ensure that our leaders of the future are fully equipped to advance.

This new unified approach ensures succession planning, and retention of valuable knowledge, skills and experience that we have at ENGIE Fabricom.

The SMTD programme will encourage the development of those who began as apprentices and accompanies our revised approach to bringing new trainees into the business – which has seen us employ 12 talented young people in the last 18 months.

These initiatives reinforce ENGIE Fabricom’s commitment to attracting individuals to engineering construction, and to retain and develop those people – ensuring a fulfilling career – at the same time preserving vital skills in our Industry for the future.

Functional Safety

ENGIE Fabricom UK hosting a talk on Functional Safety for Process Engineers

By | Training Courses

Having been a member of the IChemE for a number of years we are delighted to announce that ENGIE Fabricom UK will be hosting one of their member group events (a talk on functional safety) at our Grimsby offices on the 6th November.

We will be facilitating a talk on functional safety which comes on the back of ENGIE headlining this year’s Hazards 29 as one of the main sponsors that has since sparked an increased interest in our process safety consultancy services.

The talk is designed to provide an insight into the recent changes to BS EN (IEC) 61511:2017 (Edition 2) which governs functional safety across the process industries.  Although it is not a legal requirement to follow the standard it is deemed “state of the art” and is one of the many standards that the HSE will use to make a judgement against the process industries.

As such, we will explore how process engineers and process safety specialists are impacted as a result of the functional life-cycle and the ways in which it operates.  In addition to this, we will also be discussing the impact of the new requirements when it comes to security risk assessment (both physical and cyber) and whether such changes will impact on the design and process risk assessment stages.

Click here for full talk details, time, location and how to register.

We look forward to welcoming you to our offices in November.
