Another successful year for ENGIE Fabricom UK

By | Corporate News

Engineering and construction company ENGIE Fabricom UK has achieved continued growth in 2018 under the leadership of a new CEO.

Richard Webster was appointed to the role in January and has forged ahead with the Company’s ongoing commitment to the decarbonisation of energy.

This has seen further expansion into its activities in the offshore wind and energy from waste sectors.

Prior to 2012, ENGIE Fabricom UK focused on large modular Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) and construction work for the oil and gas sector.

It has since adopted a new strategy, targeting plant expansions and upgrades in niche sectors such as utilities, energy from waste, and renewables.

For example, in 2016, it was awarded a significant order from a major offshore wind operator to carry our remediation work on turbines off the coast of Suffolk.

Richard said: “As a Company, we have nearly 45 years’ consultancy, engineering, management and construction expertise across a variety of sectors.

“It’s our aim to bring this experience to the renewables industry where our reputation for providing innovative solutions without compromising on quality and safety is of great value.

“This year, we have launched a new website and design to more fully demonstrate our capabilities to clients and share news of the excellent work being carried out by the ENGIE Fabricom UK team.”

Successes over the last 12 months have included the expansion of ENGIE Fabricom UK’s Stokesley project offices, manufacturing and construction facilities along with their renewables office, with new recruits bolstering the engineering and design team to office capacity.

The business also operates from sites in Grimsby, Immingham, Lowestoft and Middlesbrough and its manufacturing and construction sites in Lincolnshire are currently busy with work on a number of significant projects.

As a reflection of its diversification into new markets, ENGIE Fabricom UK also attended the Renewables UK exhibition in Manchester and the Offshore Wind Conference in Hamburg as well as a number of skills fairs.

Richard said: “Our success is largely down to the professionalism and capabilities of our team so we have not only made new recruits throughout the business this year, but also invested in continued training and development for our employees.

“For example, four of our team have achieved prestigious Chartered Management Institute awards and we have gained the new ISO 45001 occupational health and safety standard at our first attempt.

“Furthermore, we have received recognition for our health and safety practices onsite at many of our projects alongside other positive feedback for the work we have done.

“This month also saw the roll out of Project Graphene which is a program to simplify and strengthen our management structure, bring the business together as one team and instill a positive and proactive culture.  The vision is to become a more customer focused organisation with our greatest asset; our people at the heart of everything we do and a collective goal of reaching a profitable turnover of £150m by 2022.”

“Our order book for 2019 is already looking very healthy and we are looking forward to another positive year ahead.”
