ENGIE Fabricom partner with Method Functional Safety Ltd. to deliver TUV Certified IEC 61511 Functional Safety Training Course

ENGIE Fabricom is pleased to partner with Method Functional Safety Ltd. to deliver their TUV Functional Safety Training Course IEC 61511 for Professionals.

The course provides an overview of the entire IEC 61511 lifecycle and details how key aspects such as Verification, Validation, Functional Safety Assessments and Audits can be practically implemented.

The course is universally recognised as the essential qualification for professionals and engineers working with any aspect of the Functional Safety lifecycle in the Process and Power industries.

On successful completion of the course and the examination, candidates that can demonstrate adequate level of experience will achieve the “TUV Functional Safety Professional” award. Certification takes place in cooperation with TUV SUD.

The Course is structured over 3 days of class room training, with a 4-hour exam on the 4th day.

ENGIE Fabricom will be hosting this training event at their Engineering Office, Origin Way, Europarc, Grimsby.

Matt Welch to take part in Ironman UK 2017

Ironman, Matt WelchMatt Welch, HSE Manager East Region will be taking on this year’s Ironman event in Bolton on 16th July.  The Triathlon consists of a 2.4 mile (3.86 km) swim, a 112 mile (180.25 km) bike ride and a marathon 26.22 mile (42.20 km) run, raced in that order, without a break.

Matt will begin the tough race in the lake at Bolton’s Pennington Flash country park before embarking on a 2-loop journey through Lancashire’s countryside, which will include the famous Sheep House Lane climb, twice. The final discipline, the run begins at the Macron Stadium before heading into Bolton town centre, where he will complete three loops of a circuit before finishing in Le Mans Crescent.

Matt has been training hard over the past year for this event and is fundraising for the charity When You Wish Upon A Star. This is a local charity whose aim is to grant the wishes of children between the ages of 2 – 16 years old living with life threatening illnesses.

Change of role for Matthew Welch – HSE Manager East Region

As part of ongoing restructuring in the East region business unit, ENGIE Fabricom is pleased to announce the change of role for Matthew Welch to HSE Manager, East region reporting directly to Mark Wingate, Director of EPC & EPCm with immediate effect.

Matt was previously based at the Immingham facility where he was the HSE Advisor for constructional and manufacturing activities executed within the East region.  Matt will now be based at Origin 3 and have overall business unit responsibility for all HSE and infrastructure interests relating to the engineering and construction activity for the East region.

Out of work Matt enjoys spending time with his family and is currently training for the 2017 Ironman UK.

New Role for Richard Goodwin

As part of a reorganisation within the Engineering Design department, Richard Goodwin is to undertake a new role as 3D Modelling Administrator.  This new position will ensure that the latest technology is operated seamlessly between all disciplines, and allows ENGIE Fabricom to become one of the first companies in the UK to utilise a combined Autodesk Plant 3D and Advance Steel / Revit platform.

Richard’s duties will include taking responsibility for the administration of ENGIE Fabricom’s 3D models and the information used to produce engineering deliverables, whilst facilitating inter-discipline coordination and checking.  Richard will also assist with laser scanning and production of point clouds and Trueviews from these scans, in addition to some modelling within disciplines to produce standard details and libraries.

I’m sure you will all join us in wishing Richard the best of luck in his new role.

ENGIE Fabricom welcomes Laura Finney as Receptionist / Administrator

Laura joins the central services team at ENGIE Fabricom as Receptionist / Administrator.

Her role will primarily be to assist with day to day reception duties, meeting and greeting visitors, booking meeting rooms and organising post etc. as well as providing support on SAP and other administrative tasks.

Laura’s previous roles include administrator at LOR and part of the reprographic team at Ultimate Packaging.

Her hobbies include photography, crafts and spending time with friends and her yodelling dog, Fred.

Please join me in welcoming Laura to the team and wishing her a successful future with ENGIE Fabricom.
