ENGIE Fabricom’s Strategic Development Director, Andrew Mitchell was asked to be a guest speaker at the Green Port Event in Hull on Thursday 23rd February 2017.

The event’s aim was to highlight the local impact of the building of the Energy Works Plant in Hull and included an overview of the project and a screening of drone video footage of the site construction so far as well as a timeline of work completion.

Guest speakers from the all of the main stakeholders in the project gave presentations detailing their involvement in the delivery of this flag ship project.

These included:

Smile Foundation – Helen Binnie-Wise and Andy Barber
Green Port Hull – Fred Mead
M+W Group – Ben Purcell, Martin Pidd and Dave Green
Energy Works Hull – Simon Hornby
Spencer Group – Andy Beach
ENGIE Fabricom – Andrew Mitchell
Field Systems Designs Ltd – Bryan Munro
North Sea Ventilation – Dave Young
Siemens Turbines – George Giles

But above all the presentations the talk given by the children representing the Eco Team of Stoneferry Primary School was the highlight of the morning.

The Green Port Hull vision is to establish Hull and the Humber region as a world class centre for renewable energy, creating wealth and employment for the region.

The Green Port Growth Programme is administered by East Riding of Yorkshire Council and Hull City Council. With an investment of over £25.7million, the programme, which is supported by the Government’s Regional Growth Fund, is designed to capitalise on renewables opportunities and to develop indigenous business growth within the renewables sector.  The project is providing continual support to help local businesses recognise and embrace these potential opportunities and we are pleased we are able to support this initiative.
